Marilyn Dahlia Tuber
Size: Miniature
Form: Formal Decorative?
Color: My personal read on this dahlia’s color is squarely in the pink category. A bold raspberry-magenta with bits of coral or rich salmon here and there. I am not at all versed in the world of dahlia classifications, but perhaps there is a case to be made that it’s Dark Pink or Dark Red.
I love this strange little raspberry creature. The edges of each petal are especially pointed, almost spiky, and their color is iridescent, like an insect or a new precious metal. Even at the farmers’ market, customers stop to remark on it. Great size for bouquet making. I purchased my first Marilyn tuber(s) from Fruition Seeds, who created the variety, before they shifted their focus away from dahlias. I don’t have many tubers, but since I can’t find them anywhere else on the internet, I thought I should sell some.
